On paper, all potassium chloride looks the same: white crystals with the chemical formula KCl. In practice, differences in purity, impurities and batch-to-batch consistency can have a big impact — a drilling fluid that does not perform as planned, a disrupted production process, or a product that fails quality control.
Here are five things to check before choosing a potassium chloride product and its supplier.
1. The grade must match the application
Potassium chloride comes in several grades — Standard, Technical, Food, Feed and Pharma — each with different impurity limits. KCl for drilling is not designed for food, and vice versa. Make sure the supplier offers a grade that is actually intended for your application. Each grade is explained in The Different Grades of Potassium Chloride.
2. Ask for a Certificate of Analysis for every batch
A CoA shows the laboratory results for the batch you receive. Check the relevant parameters, not just purity:
- KCl or Kâ‚‚O content,
- moisture,
- sodium and bromide,
- heavy metals — especially for food and pharmaceutical use,
- water-insoluble matter.
Compare these figures with the agreed product specification. Our product specifications can be downloaded from each product page.
3. Consistent supply
One good shipment does not necessarily mean a reliable supply. Ask about stock availability, delivery times and whether the supplier has its own warehouses. PT Anaya Global Indonesia operates two warehouses in the Jatiuwung area of Tangerang, so routine needs can be served from available stock.
4. Documents and compliance
For some projects — for example in oil & gas, or tenders that require local-content levels — a supplier’s documents matter as much as the product itself. Check quality management certification (such as ISO 9001), local-content (TKDN) certificates and the relevant business permits. Our certifications are listed on the About page.
5. Packaging and storage
Potassium chloride should be stored in closed packaging in a dry place so that it does not cake from moisture. Choose a pack size that suits how you use it — for example 25 kg or 50 kg bags, or 1,000 kg jumbo bags for large volumes.
